Description
La Spinetta’s Valeirano Barbaresco comes from a 3-hectare vineyard in Treiso, which enjoys the best exposure of this high-reaching cru. The vines are 48-54 years old and are planted to calcareous soil at 300 meters above sea level, all with a southern exposure. Harvest usually happens in the first or second week in October. Fermentation and skin maceration takes place over 7-8 days. The wine then ages for 20-22 months in new, medium toasted, French oak barrique. Valeirano Barbaresco is then aged for another year in bottle before its release. The wine is not filtered or fined.
