Description
Pinhook ‘Rye’d On’ marks the first whiskey to be distilled and bottled at the refurbished Castle & Key Distillery since it shuttered in 1972. It also marks Pinhook’s first release distilled in collaboration with Castle & Key and reflecting Pinhook’s new proprietary rye mash bill of 60% Rye, 20% Malted Barley, and 20% Yellow Corn. As with other Pinhook releases, ‘Rye’d On’ was blended and proofed by Master Taster, Sean Josephs to best reflect the barrels at that time, creating a rye whiskey ‘vintage’ that is not to be missed. The notable percentage of malted barley in the composition lends depth and creamy texture to a rye whiskey bursting with peach, spearmint, and cinnamon on the nose, leading to a palate of cherry and toffee.
